This 90-minute live walking tour follows a circular route around the buildings of University College London (UCL) whose reputation for medicine is second to none in the world. People and places associated with the College have been responsible for the first vaccine, antiseptic and antibiotic in the world and the unseemly 1846 race to produce the first anaesthetic saw a dentist and a doctor at UCL coming second and third to a practitioner in the USA. Another UCL student walked into a pub in Cambridge in 1953 and announced the discovery of the secret of life - the structure of DNA. All this and more. Meet at Russell Square tube....
